Extreme cold for a cause [video] 128 take Polar Plunge, raise $16,000 for Special Olympics Feb 16, 2009
The second Ohio University Polar Plunge made Valentine's Day memorable for the 128 people brave enough to enter the chilly waters at Strouds Run State Park for a good cause. The event raised more than $16,000 to benefit Special Olympics Ohio -- twice last year's proceeds. The money will be used to support yearlong training and competition for people with intellectual disabilities. Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and the Ohio University Police Department co-sponsored the event.
