These changes primarily serve to update the policy by incorporating references to electronic solicitations as well as to new policies that were not in place when the university approved the previous version.

Among other minor changes, the policy provides exemptions for official university-sponsored programs and recognized charitable organizations such the Ohio University Foundation, United Appeal or Red Cross blood drives.
