Ohio University employees are invited to assist with fall quarter residence hall opening as the Class of 2013 arrives on campus on Thursday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 4. Shifts are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 12:30 to 4:45 p.m. Participating staff and faculty will provide a welcoming presence to make a stressful time more pleasant for new students and their families.
The Department of Residential Housing coordinates the volunteer process for members of the OHIO community to welcome incoming students and their families. Classified and administrative staff who volunteer should receive the approval of their supervisors. Every effort will be made to keep volunteers in an area near their regular work location, if needed.
If interested in volunteering your time and Ohio University knowledge, please contact Assistant Director Barb Harrison at harrisob@ohio.edu by Friday, Aug. 14.
Those who volunteer will receive an official move-in staff T-shirt and the opportunity to create a good first impression for new Bobcats and their parents. This is a fun, positive experience and we hope you will join us. Residential housing staff will provide a short training session for those who volunteer. The time and location of these trainings will be announced after Aug. 17.
