Ohio University and the Ohio University Inn & Conference Center have collaborated on a new Web page that highlights their relationship and explains why patronizing the inn helps the university.
The new landing page tells viewers that the Ohio University Inn & Conference Center, which is owned by the Ohio University Foundation, is the only on-campus hotel on the Athens campus. It also says the inn's proceeds are used to fund programs and projects that help the university grow and succeed.
"The foundation is an active partner in the university's mission of education, research and service, and works aggressively toward these ends," said Howard R. Lipman, vice president for University Advancement and president and CEO of the Ohio University Foundation. "Support through partnerships such as the one with the inn, touches every part of the university today, helping us to achieve a margin of excellence for which tuition, fees and public funding simply do not provide."
The new landing page appears when someone follows the "About Ohio" drop-down menu on the Ohio University front door and selects "Ohio University Inn."
Michael Miraglia, general manager of the Ohio University Inn & Conference Center, said it was extremely important to explain to potential customers that their dollars help support the university.
"We felt that we needed to communicate this message and the new landing page does that," Miraglia said. "We're really excited because it lets parents know they are supporting their student's education when they stay with us."
