Spring has finally arrived and who better to enjoy the weather with than your mom? The annual Moms Weekend will kick off Friday, May 1, and the university has planned an array of activities for students and their visiting moms.

Senior Trisha Winberry said she is looking forward to her mom's fourth Moms Weekend appearance. Although their agenda is not yet finalized, she is hoping for warm weather so they can partake in their favorite weekend rituals as well as a few new ones.

"This will be my mom's final visit to OU so I want to make it one to remember," Winberry said. We have some traditions, like going to the Moms Market, but this year I might I do something new, like take her to Strouds Run to show her what my typical sunny Saturday afternoon is like."

This year's Moms Weekend lineup includes the following events:

Friday, May 1

  • The Women of ALPACA (Athens Local Professional Artist & Craftsman Association) will hold an arts and crafts sale with the opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Women's Center in Baker University Center 403.
