A revised version of Ohio University Policy 44.120, which describes limitations relative to animals in university-owned buildings, outside areas and vehicles, was approved on March 17.
The policy notes that animals usually are not allowed in university buildings or vehicles, but outlines some exceptions. Among these, the new version removes the exception for Residence Life staff and changes the language related to assistive service animals to be more inclusive of a wider range of animals.
The changes also reduce the maximum size of a fish aquarium allowed without approval from the Department of Environmental Health and Safety to 30 gallons, from 50.
