The University Clean Energy Alliance of Ohio (UCEAO) will hold the third annual energy conference at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, April 8-9. Ohio University holds UCEAO membership through the Consortium for Energy, Economics and the Environment (CE3) at the Voinovich School. Scott Miller, CE3 director of energy and environmental programs, serves as the statewide organization's co-chair.
The conference, titled "Putting the Pieces Together: The New Energy Paradigm in Research, Education, Business and Public Policy," will bring together statewide university faculty, students and staff, energy professionals, policy makers and industry representatives to discuss the future of energy at the local, state and federal levels, with specific attention to the synergies between research, education, business and policy.
Ohio Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher and Kathleen McGinty, former chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality will provide keynote addresses Wednesday and Thursday. A poster exhibition will be held Wed., April 8 at 5 p.m., to showcase student and faculty research projects from around Ohio. On Thursday, exhibitors from the private and public sector will display their efforts in the energy arena.
