Sept. 25, 2007
Ohio University experienced power outages at locations throughout the Athens campus today. As of 3 p.m., the outages were confined to The Ridges buildings 22 (the Institute for Local Government Administration and Rural Development) and 27 (the Child Development Center).
Facilities Management has identified a faulty transformer in the Child Development Center as the source of the outages. Staff members hope to have power restored to building 22 by 5 p.m. The Child Development Center will be powered by a generator until a new transformer is installed sometime Wednesday.
Because of the outages, the Child Development Center closed early today, but it is expected to be open Wednesday. The center's staff will alert Outlook and local media if a closure is necessary.
