The faces of Faculty Commons Here are key people and offices you'll find in the new Faculty Commons Sept. 25, 2007 By Mary Reed Jan Maxwell, assistant dean for collections and access and interim dean of Ohio University Libraries maxwelj2@ohio.edu 593-2707 The responsibility of developing the library's collections is shared by more than 20 librarians who serve as subject specialists to the university's various academic departments and colleges. Maxwell oversees these efforts.
| Marjorie DeWert, director, Center for Academic Technology dewert@ohio.edu 597-2703 CAT is an academic support facility available to faculty interested in instructional innovation – assistance in designing, developing and assessing instructional resource materials and technology-based tools and applications.
| Sherrie Gradin, professor of English; director, Center for Writing Excellence; director, Appalachian Writing Project gradin@ohio.edu 597-1857 CWE offers faculty seminars and individual consultations that enable faculty to re-imagine the way they include writing in their courses. The center also supports faculty writing groups and initiates such programs as the Faculty-in-Residence.
| Laurie Hatch, director of the Center for Teaching and Learning hatchl@ohio.edu 597-2700 CTL works collaboratively with members of the university community to enhance the connection between teaching and learning. The center offers workshops, brown bag discussion series, teaching observations, individual consultations and other programs and resources for faculty, teaching associates and instructional staff. |
