More than 35 Air Force and Army ROTC cadets paid tribute to the nation's veterans and POW/MIA soldiers with a 24-hour vigil over the weekend.
Held at the Court Street entrance to Baker University Center, the observance began at midnight Saturday. At the top of each hour, a red rose was dedicated to those who have served.
"This vigil was a great opportunity for our cadets," said Air Force ROTC Cadet Tyler Peery, Detachment 650 honor guard commander. "It put them in the public eye, remembering our POWs and MIAs, and spreading a message to the community, a message that says we will not forget our comrades who are lost and/or suffering at the hands of an unknown foe."
