Ohio University employees and their family members now can spend an evening at the Ohio University Inn at the "university preferred rate."
The rate is $89, compared to normal nightly rates of $109 to $159. The OU Inn provides the same reduced rate to university departments booking rooms for job candidates, speakers and other visitors.
"There are a lot of new employees at the university, and we wanted to make sure that if they haven't had the opportunity to stay here, the rate is out there for them to utilize for business purposes but also for family coming into town," general manager Michael Miraglia said. "We do that to show the benefit of the relationship between the university and this hotel."
The Ohio University Foundation owns the OU Inn. Its profits support the 1804 Fund, which provides financial assistance for university research and teaching.
To receive the preferred rate, reservations must be made by the university employee. The rate is not offered during special weekends such as commencement, Homecoming, Parents Weekend, Moms Weekend and Dads Weekend.
