Emergency appointments policy updated

Changes to Ohio University policy 40.052, which provides guidelines regarding the use of emergency positions and how to make such appointments, were approved April 21.
James Kemper, associate vice president for finance and administration for human resources, said the revisions bring the policy into compliance with Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and Ohio civil service laws.
An emergency appointment is limited to a maximum of 30 calendar days to meet an emergency situation. The policy will take effect 30 days after approval.
