International Week 2008: A look back Slide show captures sights and sounds of the celebration May 19, 2008 From staff reports
The richness and diversity of its international ties help make Ohio University a vibrant and engaging place -- a fact celebrated each year with a special International Week observance.
Here, Outlook offers a look back at the sights and sounds of International Week 2008: Your World, Your Story, a celebration that included inspirational words from alumnus Marcus Dahn, an official of the Liberian government; a World Drumming Party that thrived on audience participation; cultural performances by participants in the International Student Union Talent Show; entertainment, tastes and wares from around the world at the always-popular International Street Fair and a variety of other events.
The theme "Your World, Your Story" also inspired a series of video interviews involving members of the university community. Their stories illustrate how life at Ohio University is enriched by the diverse backgrounds and experiences of students, faculty and staff.
