The Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University has appointed Billy J. "B.J." Galloway as chair of the Department of Aviation.
Galloway, an associate professor, rejoined the department as interim chair in the fall. He had been a faculty member in the department from 1998 to 2001.
Galloway has more than 10 years of experience in aviation instruction, including six years with Southern Illinois University. During his absence from Ohio University, he served as a pilot for Express Jet Airlines and AirNet Systems Inc. He served the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1990 in roles that included instructor radar navigator and chief, B-52 tactics, at the U.S. Air Force's Headquarters Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Neb.
Galloway holds an MBA in aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana Tech University, where he graduated cum laude.
