Informational sessions on child care begin Feb. 4 Jan 30, 2008 By George Mauzy
The Athens Community Child Care Partnership has teamed up with the Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development to offer educational and intake/referral child care sessions throughout the academic year. The sessions begin Monday, Feb. 4, and are free and open to the public.
For those who want to learn how to choose quality child care and services, ACCCP is offering one-hour educational sessions. The first is scheduled for noon on Monday. During these group sessions, participants will learn best practices for selecting a quality child care provider.
The intake/referral sessions are 30-minute meetings with a representative from COAD; they will be conducted at the Human Resources and Training Center on Ohio University's Athens campus. In these one-on-one sessions, participants will be presented with up-to-date information about licensed child care providers in the area and their current openings.
The intake/referral sessions are listed in two-hour blocks on the registration Web page. After registration is complete, an ACCCP representative will contact the registrant to schedule a 30-minute meeting within the session's listed time.
