Valentine's shuffle helps My Sister's Place Feb 13, 2008
Several student organizations will participate in a second annual Valentine's Day Shuffle from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in Scripps Hall. Hosted by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), the shuffle will benefit My Sister's Place, a local shelter for battered women and children.
Donated goods will be collected and assembled in baskets in Scripps 111. From there, students will "shuffle" to various rooms to decorate cookies, make cards and mingle. Music will be provided by ACRN in Scripps116.
"I am very excited for this event to happen again. Last year, everyone had a lot of fun mingling with other students in the college and 'shuffling' for a good cause," said chapter President Mary Miller. "We are doing it around Valentine's Day because it's a good time of the year to think about our loved ones and give back to those who have to struggle to be with their loved ones."
PRSSA encourages volunteers to help My Sister's Place through a donation of goods or by participating in the shuffle.
