Campaigns swing through campus

Students, faculty, staff and visitors jammed Baker Center's first-floor billiards lounge to hear from Chelsea Clinton over the noon hour Thursday and Memorial Auditorium later in the day to catch Michelle Obama.

But the visits brought out more than interested voters. They gave members of the campus community -- from event planners to police officers to facilities staffers -- a chance to show how quickly they can spring into action.

They also gave two aspiring journalists -- students Breanne Smith and Laura Yates -- a chance to share first-person perspectives with Outlook readers.
