Monday's Earth Week tip Apr 21, 2008
Throughout Earth Week, the Office of Sustainability has provided daily suggestions for incorporating hassle-free, environment-friendly actions into your regular routine. Today's tip:
Plan now to walk, bike or carpool to work tomorrow:
Recent studies of the climate footprint from colleges and universities indicate that transportation to and from campus can account for up to 10 percent of an institution's total greenhouse gas emissions.
Save money, energy and greenhouse gas emissions by greening your commute on Tuesday -- Earth Day -- by making plans to walk, bike or carpool to campus.
Are you interested in getting in touch with other Ohio University employees who would be interested in carpooling to campus from your neighborhood or town? E-mail the Office of Sustainability at marcuss@ohio.edu to learn more about a new project that will network neighbors in order to facilitate shared transportation options.
