The Athens International Film + Video Festival has become an art exhibition.
Opening today and continuing through May 11, the Dairy Barn Arts Center presents a retrospective of posters and memorabilia from the 1969 Ohio University Film Festival to the 1986 Athens International Film Festival. The show leads visitors through nearly two decades of designs that gained international visibility for the Athens International Film Festival during the pre-Internet era.
The exhibition, organized by David Burke, is free and open to the public in the AEP Wing on the second floor of the Dairy Barn. The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (extended hours until 8 p.m. Thursday), noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Donations are welcome.
The Diary Barn will host an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, with food provided by the Purple Chopstix restaurant. For more information, contact the Dairy Barn at 740-592-4981.
