Lisa Kamody named Assistant Director of Office for University Outreach
ATHENS, Ohio (Oct. 2, 2006) – Lisa Kamody has been named the assistant director of the Office for University Outreach. The office is part of the Office for University Outreach and Regional Campuses. She will report to Merle Graybill, Director for University Outreach.
The Office for University Outreach was created in part to be the central point of information about the hundreds of internal and external partnerships and collaborations maintained by the University. Along with creating a state-of-the-art, searchable database of these partnerships, University Outreach will help create links across Appalachia in the areas of public education, economic development and health issues.
One of Kamody’s first duties includes creating a monthly online newsletter, OUtlinks, for faculty, staff, students and community members. OUtlinks debut was September 18 at the office’s website: www.outreach.ohio.edu. Each issue will highlight innovative events and outreach activities occurring around the University community.
Kamody joined the staff of Ohio University in 2001 with Lifelong Learning’s Community and Professional Programs (CPP). While at CPP she organized, marketed and managed professional development training programs for public service, non-profit and business sector partners in Ohio and beyond. She also represented CPP and Lifelong Learning at national trade shows sponsored by professional organizations such as the American Correctional Association, Cygnus Business Media, the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, and the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police.
Originally from Elyria, Ohio, Kamody came to Ohio University as a journalism major. She earned her B.S. in Communications from Ohio University and is currently pursuing a Masters degree.
