ATHENS, Ohio (Nov. 20, 2006) -- Ohio University will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, in observance of the national Thanksgiving Day holiday. Although Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 23, the university operates under a floating holiday schedule and will remain closed Friday, Nov. 24, as an observance of Columbus Day.
The university will reopen Monday, Nov. 27, operating under normally scheduled hours.
Those of you who will spend the long weekend in the Athens area may wish to take a look at the Fun Stuff page for information about area attractions and events. In addition, the Kennedy Museum of Art will be open Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. featuring the exhibit "Weaving is Life: Navajo Weavings from the Edwin L. and Ruth E. Kennedy Southwest Native American Collection," featuring Navajo textiles, many of which are being made available for public display for the first time. This vibrant and interactive exhibition will be on display in the museum and regionally through March 2007. Also on display is "Selected Prints from the Kennedy Collection," featuring works on display from the 2006 Mid America Printmaking Council Conference. The museum has more information available.
