President announces restructuring of administration: Charge to provost and deans May 7, 2007 In announcing a restructuring of his administration to bring greater focus to Ohio University's academic mission, President Roderick J. McDavis issued a six-point charge to the provost and deans: - Improve enrollment management. With faculty and staff input, implement a comprehensive, universitywide enrollment management approach for all Ohio University campuses
- Improve student success. Collaborate with faculty and staff to increase freshman-to-sophomore retention by one full percentage point each year for the next five years
- Streamline the transfer process. Create a seamless process for students who wish to transfer to Ohio University, including establishing clear articulation agreements with feeder schools, examining the role of regional campuses and improving the entire process
- Enhance our academic research, scholarship and creative activity. Work with the faculty to carefully assess the university's research strengths and identify the opportunities where selective investment should be made
- Diversify our institution. Develop and implement innovative and successful approaches to increasing both student and faculty diversity
- Take full charge of the academic plan. Work closely with the faculty to prioritize the objectives and develop and implement specific action items.
