ATHENS, Ohio (March 9, 2007) -- Just one week remains to see "James Karales: Truth in Looking" at the Kennedy Museum of Art. The exhibit will close on Sunday, March 18.
"James Karales: Truth in Looking" features iconic images, such as those from the 1965 Selma to Montgomery civil rights march, which ended in the police brutality of "Bloody Sunday" and was commemorated recently in Alabama. The exhibit presents photojournalist and Ohio University alumnus Karales as a self-appointed reporter of visual facts, and explores what it means to look for "truth" in visual images during the first decade of the 21st century.
Support for "Truth in Looking" comes from the Office of the President of Ohio University, the City of Athens and the Athens County Convention and Visitors Bureau. This and all Kennedy Museum exhibits also receive support from the Ohio Arts Council, encouraging economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
