ATHENS, Ohio (March 9, 2007) -- A ceramics symposium held by the Ohio University School of Art will run concurrently with the National Ceramics Exhibition at The Dairy Barn Cultural Arts Center, March 12 and 13.
The Ohio University event is titled "Interpolation - Bridging The Space Between" and will feature exhibitions and lectures climaxing in a panel discussion with four guest visiting artists, Denise Pelletier, Jeanne Quinn, Kathy King and Tim Berg.
King and Quinn will speak from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, March 12, in Morton Hall room 115, while Berg will present from 6 to 7 p.m. in Bentley Hall room 124. A reception in the Ohio University Art Gallery in Seigfred Hall will take place after Berg's presentation.
Pelletier will speak 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, in Mitchell Auditorium in Seigfred Hall.
Tuesday also will feature a panel discussion involving all of the visiting artists from 1 to 3 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium. It will be moderated by Ohio University Visiting Professor of Ceramics Alex Hibbitt.
A final reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Dairy Barn will follow the panel discussion.
Brad Schwieger, chair of Ohio University's Ceramics Department, curated the exhibition at the Dairy Barn that began March 2 and runs through April 8. All events are free and open to the public.
