The board will hear seven-year academic program reviews on the civil engineering, industrial and systems engineering, and mechanical engineering departments and the School of Physical Therapy. The board will also hear presentations on the future growth of the university's Learning Communities and plans to create a Comprehensive Student Leadership Development Program that helps students develop into effective leaders.
Board members participated in a workshop Thursday afternoon aimed at increasing their capacity to strengthen the university. Led by Robert Woodbury, former president of the University of Southern Maine and former chancellor of the University of Maine System, the session gave the board an opportunity to examine its role and responsibilities, review priorities and processes, and strengthen its working relationships and communication among members and with the administration.
