ATHENS, Ohio (April 17, 2007) -- President Roderick J. McDavis will host a Town Hall Meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Baker University Center Grand Ballroom. The president said he wants to focus much of this meeting's conversation on the budget.
"I want to have a meaningful dialogue with the campus community about the budget concepts I will share with the Board of Trustees this week to start discussions," McDavis said. "My budget goals are to maintain the quality of our educational experience, invest in our people and help keep Ohio University accessible. These directions will ask all of us to consider how we could share in sacrifices. I want to hear what people think about these ideas and challenges. We're in this together."
McDavis said this meeting was scheduled to take place during the lunch hour in an effort to make it easier for more people to attend. The forum is open to all faculty, staff and students, and those attending will be able to bring in lunch.
Employees and students from Ohio University's five regional campuses will again have the opportunity to pose questions to the president and other university leaders by submitting their questions to townhall@ohio.edu during the meeting. The Town Hall Meeting can be viewed through a live webcast available at www.ohio.edu
