ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio (April 11, 2007) -- The sixth annual Rodney D. Hanson Memorial Golf Scramble to benefit area students will be held on May 14 at the Belmont Hills Country Club.
All proceeds from the scramble directly benefit the Rodney D. Hanson Memorial Scholarship designated for students attending Ohio University's Eastern Campus. During the last five years, participants have raised over $45,000 for area students.
The endowed scholarship was established by Debbi Hanson, with the support of the St. Clairsville Sunrise Rotary, after her husband Rodney, a St. Clairsville attorney, died in February 2000.
Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start planned for 12:15 p.m. A dinner at the Country Club will follow the tournament. The entry fee is $125 per golfer or $500 per team which includes golf and all special events (skins, putting contest, mulligan and throw), lunch, dinner, prizes and refreshments on the course.
The top four teams will win pro shop credits including $800 for low gross, $800 for low net, $400 for runner-up low net, and $200 for third place low net.
Those who want to attend the dinner only may buy tickets for $25 each.
