ATHENS, Ohio (Oct. 21, 2005) -- More than 20 Ohio University departments will present information to attendees at the fourth annual Conferences, Meetings and On-Campus Services Resources Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Nelson Commons.
The fair, which is hosted by Ohio University Business and Residence Services, is a way for Ohio University departments to showcase their services and products to the campus and community and create awareness of their department's unique contributions. Door prizes, sponsored by the various departments will be given away throughout the event.
"There's more than housing, dining and meeting facilities when planning a conference," said Assistant Director of Housing Jneanne Hacker.
Vendors for this year include Printing Services, Transportation Services, WOUB, Campus Recreation and Dining Services among others.
Hacker says the fair is a way for both university employees and community members to learn about different services and products Ohio University has to offer.
"This year we had a lot of inquiries from the community," Hacker said. "We reached out to the community to introduce them to the services we have to offer here at Ohio University."
Due to a rise in vendor interest and guest participation, the resource fair has been moved from Bromley Hall to Nelson Commons. The Department of Business and Residence Services anticipates that the additional space and nearby parking will continue the trend of increased attendance as displayed in recent years.
"Our goal is to get as many campus departments involved as possible, boost our vendor table count and continue to reach out to the surrounding community to increase our service and resource visibility," Hacker said.
The fair is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Jneanne Hacker at (740) 593-4084 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
