ATHENS, Ohio (Nov. 16, 2005) -- ESPNU's coverage of the Miami University at Ohio University football game on Monday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. will feature correspondence from Ohio University junior Christine Killimayer of Latrobe, Pa.
Killimayer, a journalism broadcast news major, will serve as a university correspondent during the game, providing viewers with a campus perspective, including insight into school traditions and atmosphere.
"After I found out I was going to do this, I couldn't stop smiling for a week," Killimayer said. "I was speechless and for anyone who knows me, that is unusual for me. Since one of my career goals is to become a sports anchor for ESPN, this is a good jumping off point."
She is a sports anchor and reporter for WOUB's nightly news show, "Newswatch." Killimayer also contributes to the station's Emmy Award-winning, student-produced high school football show, "Gridiron Glory."
"This will be another demonstration of ESPNU's devotion to presenting a deeper perspective of college sports," said Burke Magnus, ESPNU vice president and general manager. "It allows us to give fans direct insight to the college environment and provide a showcase for aspiring broadcasters."
