ATHENS, Ohio (Nov. 7, 2005) -- As the holiday season approaches the greatest gift a child can receive is the gift of reading. To assist in making this holiday season an educational opportunity, The Zanesville Campus Library is sponsoring a Scholastic book fair. The book fair will take place Monday, Nov. 7, through Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Zanesville Campus Library on the Ohio University-Zanesville campus.
At the book fair shoppers can take advantage of "One for Books!" This is the opportunity to make a $1 donation that will be matched by Scholastic Books to go to the following charities: Kids in Distressed Situations, the National Center for Family Literacy and Toys for Tots. Donations made at the fair will stay in the Curriculum Material Center to purchase Ellison Die Cuts used by early and middle childhood education students at Zane State College and Ohio University-Zanesville.
Tracey Humphrey explains, "The annual book fair promotes reading education, helps the university education students enhance their book collections, and provides additional points and books so we can improve our Curriculum Material Center." For more information contact Humphrey at (740) 588-1405.
