Owen chosen Ohio University's Classified Employee of the Month

ATHENS, Ohio (May 4, 2006) -- Rita Owen was honored at the Classified Senate's monthly meeting as Ohio University's Classified Employee of the Month for April, 2006. Owen is a library associate in Information Delivery Services at Alden Library and has been with Ohio University for twenty years. 

Owen was nominated for the award by her supervisor, George Cheripko, because she quickly learned a new job after she was transferred from the College of Osteopathic Medicine to her current position in 2003. Additionally, Owen exhibits tireless effort to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently. Cheripko praises Owen's relationship with student workers because she always takes time to help them. 

Owen has an Associate Degree from Hocking College. However, Owen is proud of the excellent education and diverse culture that Ohio University provides its students. While at the College of Osteopathic Medicine, she received the Employee of the Month award twice. Being honored a third time might be due to her reliable, organized and efficient personality.
