ATHENS, Ohio (March 22, 2006) -- In recognition of Women's History Month, students, faculty and staff at Ohio University Lancaster Campus and the Pickerington Center have organized "Celebrate Women," a daylong conference for women of all ages. The event will be held at the Pickerington Center on Friday, March 31, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Women may attend two morning sessions in diverse areas such as legal issues for women, the holistic woman, women making a difference and starting your own business. Each session features a panel of area women. The afternoon sessions examine Native American art, money matters for women and women in nontraditional jobs. The day concludes with an open discussion of women in the 21st century.
Mindy Drayer, weekend anchor for the morning edition of News Channel 4, will discuss women's balance among work, home, family and career. Her presentation will be offered during the luncheon. Conference participants also will have opportunities to visit many informational displays and an art exhibit.
