ATHENS, Ohio (March 2, 2006) -- A software development company will hold a computer programming contest for Ohio University students on Monday, March 6, from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. in Stocker Center rooms 103 and 307 on the Athens campus.
All Ohio University students are welcome to participate. Free pizza and drinks will be provided.
The programming and problem-solving event is sponsored by TopCoder, the recognized leader in identifying, evaluating and mobilizing effective software development resources.
First prize is a two-gigabyte iPod Nano, and second prize is a one-gigabyte flash memory drive. Third prize is a $50 book store gift certificate. All competitors will receive a TopCoder T-shirt.
Students must register by March 5 at www.topcoder.com/ohio/.
TopCoder is visiting Ohio University as part of its 2006 College Tour program. A representative will be present to explain the company's competitions, employment services, and other aspects of TopCoder.
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) in the Fritz J. and Dolores H. Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University grants Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science or electrical engineering with either the electrical or computer engineering track. EECS also offers a Master of Science degree in computer science, electrical engineering or electrical engineering-electronic navigation systems, or a Ph.D. in electrical engineering.
