ATHENS, Ohio (June 19, 2006) -- Vice President for Finance and Administration Bill Decatur recently announced a reorganization of his unit that became effective June 1.
The Facilities Management area is now under the direction of former Associate Vice President for University Planning and Implementation John Kotowski. He is now responsible for leading all facilities-related functions in the division.
Terry Conry, who is now responsible for the division's information technology, planning and assessment, and future business service centers, had previously directed Facilities Management. Conry also will provide staff support to the vice president.
Christine Sheets will continue to lead the Housing and Dining Auxiliary, now a separate unit. The Ohio University Airport has also been placed under her supervision. The area has been charged with developing new opportunities for value-added services and revenue generation along with a more aggressive facilities renovation program.
A newly created department, Safety and Risk Management, will be a combination of the Environmental Health and Safety, Insurance, and Worker's Compensation areas. The new director of this department will report to Decatur, who announced that he plans to add additional depth in the Budget, Treasury Management and Controller offices.
"This reorganization was done to help clarify some of our lines of responsibility and improve our customer service," Decatur said. "We are determined to improve our services in all areas and I am confident that these most recent changes will enable us to do a better job overall."
