ATHENS, Ohio (Jan. 24, 2006) -- The Ohio University College of Business Executive Education and Development Office in cooperation with Regional Higher Education will host the inaugural session of the Business and Industry (B&I) Breakfast Speaker Series.
Featured speaker, T. J. Justice, director of the Governor's Office of Appalachia, will talk about "Economic Potential and Promise of Southeastern Ohio." The breakfast session will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Copeland Hall, room 007 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Justice was appointed to the Governor's Office of Appalachia in 2004. Prior to his appointment, he served as Gov. Taft's regional representative for economic development. As the governor's project manager for the U.S. Energy Commission advanced gas centrifuge technology project, he was instrumental in bringing a $50 million test plant to Piketon, Ohio, in 2002. When the plant is fully operational it will employ nearly 500 people in the Piketon area.
This session of the B&I Breakfast Speaker Series will be broadcast live from the Ohio University Athens campus to the regional campuses in Chillicothe, Lancaster, Ironton, and Zanesville via the Ohio University Learning Network using interactive television among all locations. Business leaders in each community are invited to attend at the Ohio University regional campus of their choice.
