ATHENS, Ohio (Jan. 5, 2006) -- Norma Jean Beverly was honored as the Ohio University Classified Senate Employee of the Month for November 2005. Beverly is a Records Management Associate in the Financial Aid Department at the Chillicothe Regional Campus and has been with Ohio University for twenty-two years.
Beverly was nominated for the award by two of her co-workers (Kim McKimmy-Kelly and Nancy Harris), her supervisor (Dennis Bothel), and also by the Lancaster Campus Dean (Richard Bebee). Each nominator praised Beverly for her outstanding work ethic and dedication to providing quality service to each student and parent. Dean Bebee summarized by stating in his nomination, "Many times she has reached beyond her own standards within her profession to constantly make the quality of her work better."
Beverly emphasizes that Ohio University provides a quality education with a consistent awareness of community and it is just an excellent place to work. When asked to design her dream job, Beverly says, "I am doing it - helping people." She describes herself as being dedicated, positive, and conscientious.
This monthly award is made based on nominations submitted by members of the University community for any classified employee who is setting standards for excellence and innovation by promoting unity, community, continuity and visibility. Award winners show outstanding individual achievement, contribution, innovation and performance of their jobs.
