ATHENS, Ohio (Feb. 14, 2006) -- Keri Nuesmeyer was honored at Classified Senate's December 2005 meeting as the university's Classified Employee. Nuesmeyer is an administrative assistant in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Columbus CORE Site, and has been with Ohio University for five years.
Judith Edinger, director of pre-doctoral education, nominated Nuesmeyer for the award. Edinger states that Nuesmeyer brings a positive attitude and excellent office management skills to her job. Nuesmeyer is extremely helpful to her students and is continually improving the support they receive from her office.
When asked what she most enjoys as an Ohio University employee, Nuesmeyer states that it is her involvement in the physician education process and making a difference in her students' lives.
"I am one of the first people students meet when they move to Columbus," Nuesmeyer said, "and they rely on me while they are at Doctors Hospital."
The Classified Employee of the Month award is made based on nominations submitted by members of the university community for any classified employee who is setting standards for excellence and innovation by promoting unity, community, continuity and visibility. Award winners show outstanding individual achievement, contribution, innovation and performance of their jobs.
