ZANESVILLE, Ohio (Aug. 30, 2005) -- Sept. 16 is the final date to submit work to be exhibited at the Sixth Annual Women of Appalachia Art Show. Female artists, including high school students, from Ohio's Appalachian counties are invited to submit work for the show.
Categories for entries include traditional fine arts of painting, drawings and prints, sculpture, ceramics and glass and photography; traditional crafts including jewelry, wood, ceramics and glass (including pottery); textiles; and basketry and other mediums associated with traditional Appalachian crafts. Cash prizes will be awarded for the winning piece in each category. Female artists with little experience with juried exhibits are encouraged to participate.
The Women of Appalachia Art Show is one of the events taking place during the Women of Appalachia: Their Heritage and Accomplishments Conference that will run Oct. 28 and 29. The art exhibit will be displayed at the Zanesville Campus Library in Herrold Hall through Nov. 17.
