ZANESVILLE, Ohio (Jan. 6, 2005) -- "Framework for Understanding Poverty" is a Ruby Payne course that offers ideas and strategies that make a difference educating children. Educators will discuss economic class structure and examine strategies for overcoming obstacles that poverty creates.
Zanesville City Schools, sponsor for the professional development activity, invites all area educators to attend the workshop, which will be held on Saturdays, Jan. 22 and 29, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Ohio University-Zanesville campus in the Campus Center Room 430.
The course may be taken for graduate credit, but is not required. The one credit hour course cost is $85 or $35 for non-credit and includes two texts. Contact the Ohio University-Zanesville Office of Personal and Professional Development at (740) 588-1400 to register for the course.
