ATHENS, Ohio (May 11, 2005) -- Tammy Jordan was honored at the Classified Senate's April monthly meeting as Ohio University's Classified Employee of the Month for March 2005. Jordan is an Administrative Associate to the graduate chair in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Jordan was nominated for the award by Shawn Ostermann and Janelle Baney. Both praise Jordan for "stepping up" during the extended sick leave of the graduate chair. Jordan kept the EECS Graduate Program running smoothly by ensuring that deadlines, contracts, tuition awards and GA assignments were completed successfully. "Tammy is truly an asset to the EECS Graduate Program and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She is most definitely deserving of this award", her supervisor stated on the nomination.
When asked what she is most proud of as an OU employee, Jordan indicates that it is the opportunity to work with the graduate students, then see them graduate and secure their first jobs of their new careers. Jordan's dream job would be to perform as a singer in front of "big crowds". Honesty, caring and fun are the words that Jordan feels best describe her.
