Faculty Senate rejects proposed general education program
ATHENS, Ohio (Feb. 21, 2005) -- On Monday, Feb. 14, Ohio University's Faculty Senate rejected a revised version of the proposed general education program at its monthly meeting.
Faculty Senate accepted a motion to begin a review of the current Tier system. The Educational Policy and Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty Senate, in consultation with the General Education Council, will begin this review quickly, especially in regard to Tier III.
"It is essential that the faculty and the administration work together to assure that the review moves forward and that, in the interim, students will have ready access to the courses they need to fulfill their graduation requirements," said Associate Provost of Academic Affairs Martin Tuck. "Graduating seniors in need of a Tier III course for spring quarter are being accommodated."
