ATHENS, Ohio (Jan. 12, 2005) -- Debra Sellers was honored at the Classified Senate's December meeting as Ohio University's Classified Employee of the Month for December 2004. Sellers is an administrative coordinator in Business and Residence Services.
Sellers was nominated for the award by her supervisor, Beverly Wyatt, director of Conference Services. Wyatt praises Sellers for her strong people skills and the ability to deal with stressful issues and turn the worst situation into a positive experience.
During the past summer she assisted the tenants who were directed to vacate the Mill Street Apartment complex in a relatively short period of time. Sellers unique way of dealing with the various crises demonstrated compassion and understanding that translated to personal and caring assistance for the tenants. Sellers completed the Classified Staff Development Program last spring which enabled her to learn more about the university and how decisions are made.
