Clark and Ubbing named to Lancaster Coordinating Council

LANCASTER, Ohio (Nov. 3, 2004) -- Mina Ubbing and Robert "Bob" Clark were appointed to the Ohio University Lancaster Campus Coordinating Council and recently attended their first meeting as members.

Clark has served as a district representative for Congressman Dave Hobson for 12 years. Previously he worked as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill with former Congressman Clarence Miller. He also managed a state representative campaign.

As a member of the Lancaster Kiwanis, Clark served on the organization's board of directors and coached a Little League team. He also is a mason and a member of the Alladin Temple Shrine. His community service includes Habitat for Humanity (president and board of directors) and Fairfield Industries (board of directors). He graduated from Ohio University with a degree in interpersonal communication.

Ubbing has served as president and CEO of Fairfield Medical Center for three years. Previously, she was accounting manager and then vice president for finance at the facility and controller/internal auditor at Mansfield General Hospital. She also has taught healthcare finance and reimbursement and materials management and purchasing at Franklin University and Ohio University-Lancaster, respectively.

Her community service extends to United Way of Fairfield County, as treasurer; vice president of the Fairfield County Mental Retardation Developmental Disabilities Board of Directors, and vice chairman of the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. Ubbing also is active in healthcare facilities management organizations.

Ubbing holds a certificate in healthcare executive management from The Ohio State University, a master's degree in business administration from Ashland University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Wheeling Jesuit College.

Ohio University's Board of Trustees appointed Clark to a two-year term beginning July 2004 and Ubbing to a nine-year term, also beginning July 2004.

The Coordinating Council meets quarterly to offer viewpoints and to advise on budget and finance, physical plant, education policies and general administration practices.
