LANCASTER, Ohio (Sept. 9, 2004) -- Edward H. Gamble was recently named director of physical plant at Ohio University Lancaster Campus.
A graduate of Ohio University with degrees in industrial and systems engineering and business administration, Gamble was uniquely qualified for the position, according to Interim Dean John Furlow.
"Ed experienced the Ohio University system, from the days when he took Ohio University classes at Lancaster High School, the Lancaster Campus and on to Athens," Furlow said. "He also brings a great deal of skill and knowledge in supervision, manufacturing and facilities management."
Gamble held many positions at the General Electric Lighting Plant in Circleville, including quality engineer, manager of shop operations and manufacturing projects engineer during his 32 years with the company. He retired as facility manager earlier this year.
In addition to taking many specialty-training courses, Gamble has received several awards from the company, including a managerial award. He and his wife, Marge, are the parents of two adult sons and reside near Lancaster.
