ATHENS, Ohio (Feb. 24, 2004) -- The Child Development Center at The Ridges will open at noon Tuesday, Feb. 24. No lunch will be served.
Because of precautions being taken with the water supply at The Ridges, Ohio University temporarily suspended operations at the Child Development Center yesterday.
Three Columbus area men were arrested for trespassing early Monday morning at the city water tower adjacent to The Ridges, prompting that measures be taken to ensure the water's quality. As a precaution, the City of Athens had taken the tower offline until it could be determined through testing by the Environmental Protection Agency that no tampering had taken place with the water supply.
