| SPIN is an online acessed data base of federal, non-federal and co rporate funding opportunities designed to assist faculty and staff in the identification of external sources of support for research, education and development projects. The data base is searchable using SPIN keywords, Sponsor name(s), Award type(s), Applicant Type(s), Geographic Region, and/or Deadline Date/Date Ranges. The subscription which is provided by the VP for Research as a service to the Ohio University community is accessible through Ohio University servers (only) to connect to the In ternet. InfoEd International has made available a one page quick reference card, an eighteen page "SPINPlus Getting Started Guide," and a larger 110 page user manual, "SPINPlus Reference Manual" which are available below in PDF format. |

| Access
to InfoEd SMARTS Alert Service and GENIUS Profiles SMARTS/GENIUS is an additional service of InfoEd International purchased by ORSP and made available to the Ohio University research community. Faculty and staff of Ohio University are invited to contribute investigator profiles (GENIUS) which are then matched on a daily basis against the SPIN database (SMARTS). E-mail messages are sent daily notifying participants of potential funding opportunities based on the profile and keywords you select. Participation in the either the profile system (GENIUS) or the alert system (SMARTS) is entirely voluntary. |
