Internal Sources of Funding

Research Support and Competitive Awards

The mission of the internal support and competitive award programs is to foster excellence in research and scholarship by OHIO faculty and to support activities aimed at securing extramural funding. In the allocation of funds across program categories, highest priority is given to initiatives aimed at funding activities likely to enable leveraging for additional extramural funding and to initiatives aimed at scholarly activities for which availability of extramural funding is extremely limited.

Various resources are used to support the internal support and competitive awards programs such as recovered indirect costs, general operating funds , endowed funds, and support programs directly from the state of Ohio . Due to the fluctuating nature of these funds please consult the website at http://www.research.ohiou.edu/index.php?section=4 for a list of current programs and funding levels available.
