No more than two proposal submissions may be for instrument acquisiti
on. To manage these limitations, please e-mail Shane Gilkey, Assistant VP for Research, gilkeys@ohio.edu (with a copy to orsp@ohio.edu ) indicating your interest in applying as soon as possible and no later than November 10, 2008. Please indicate in the email:
1) Is Ohio University the applicant or are you collaborating with another institution that will be the applicant?
2) Is your proposal for instrument acquisition or
instrument development following NSF's definitions on page 5 and
6 of the proposal guidelines?
3) Estimate of the cost of the instrumentation AND sources of cost sharing. Effective FY 2009, for both acquisition
and development proposals, institutions are required to cost share at a level of 30% of the total proposal project cost.
4) If you are resubmitting a previously submitted MRI proposal please provide reviewers comments from that submission.
In the event that more than
two Ohio University applicant responds to the instrument acquisition component and more
than one applicant responds to the instrument development component, an internal review committee will be
convened to select the most competitive applications to go forward to NSF on behalf of Ohio University.
