The Ohio Research Institute for Transportation and the Environment (ORITE) offers a multidisciplinary approach to solving environmental and transportation problems, which is vital to the economic and ecological future of the nation.
Founded in 1987, the institute conducts more than $5 million in government and industry-supported research. ORITE operates cutting-edge research facilities including the Accelerated Pavement Load Facility and adjacent National Asphalt Laboratory, the Safety and Human Factors facility which includes a driving simulator, and the Center for Pipe and Underground Structures (CPUS). ORITE also develops and sponsors workshops, conferences, and other technology-transfer efforts.
