Why did you pick Ohio University

I picked Ohio University for a few different reasons. The main reason was the campus itself. It’s hard to find another campus with the same atmosphere of Ohio University. I fell in love with how beautiful the campus was. Another reason was because I didn’t know many other people coming here from my home town. This gave me the opportunity to start new friendships and meet new and exciting people from all over.
Athens has that “college town” feeling that I couldn’t find at any other campus. I visited other college campuses and all I saw was concrete and really boring buildings. Ohio University was perfect.

What is the best part about living in Athens?

The best part about living in Athens is the excitement that the campus brings to the town. Although there are more than 20,000 students enrolled, Athens and Ohio University creates a pretty small community. There is always something going on, and reason to be outside. Plus watching the seasons change is beautiful around Athens.

Where is your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus has to be the Front Room balcony. It is on the 4th floor of Baker that comes off of the Front Room Coffee shop. Whenever its nice and warm out, it’s the perfect place to relax during class breaks or to get some homework/studying done. There are chairs and tables so that you can spread out your stuff while having some coffee.

What has been your favorite class at OU and why?

My favorite class at OU has been MKT 358. It was a professional sales class that gave us the opportunity to try out making sales calls as well as mock interviews and sales pitches.

What advice would you give to a first year student?

Don’t take anything for granted. Meet as many people as you want and really put yourself out there. Join organizations, join clubs, play an intramural sport. There is always something to do so don’t just sit around and play video games. Get your work done and study hard. Also, bring an umbrella.
